Find Your Next FDE Role With a Recruiter Who's Done the Job
Some teams set their FDEs up to win. Others just need someone to absorb customer escalations. We know the difference from the inside, and we'll tell you which one you're looking at before you take the call.
Why Apply Through Us
Roles We'd Take Ourselves
We only bring you roles where the team, the travel and the customer load make sense for you. If a role is set up to burn people out, we'll say so.
Vetted Once, Introduced Many Times
Do our core vetting once. Your scorecard comes with you, so you skip the same first round at every company.
The Inside View
How the team is really structured, how much travel there is and whether FDEs there ever get promoted.
Honest Feedback
Specific notes after every stage, win or lose, from someone who has sat on both sides of the table.
How It Works
Two minutes. Your LinkedIn and what you want next.
A short chat about deployments you've shipped, not a quiz on your resume. We'll email you within 2 business days to set it up.
A technical screen and a customer role-play. You do it once.
We prep you for each team's process. Your profile only goes where you say yes.
Not an FDE Yet?
Engineers who want more time with customers, and solutions or support pros who want to ship code, make some of the best FDEs. We're building a program to help you make the jump.
Apply as an FDE
Show us what you've shipped and who you've shipped it for. A former FDE reads every application and replies within 2 business days, even if it's a no for now.
- Real feedback on your role-play, win or lose.
- Nothing goes to a company without your OK.
- FDE roles and the deployment roles beside them. Nothing else.
Questions From FDEs
Still have questions? Email us at hello@forwarddeployedhiring.com.
Do I need "FDE" in my title?
No. Plenty of great FDEs have never had the title. If you've written production code and worked directly with customers, apply. Solutions engineers, consultants and technical support leads who ship code often make the strongest FDE candidates. And if FDE isn't your target, we also place deployment strategists and solutions engineers.
Will you send my resume anywhere without asking?
Never. Before anything leaves us, we tell you who the company is, what the role really involves, how much travel it carries and why we think it fits. Your profile only goes to teams you've said yes to.
How long does the vetting take?
About 90 minutes in total: a technical screen and a customer role-play. You do this core vetting once, and your scorecard comes with you to every introduction, so you skip repeat first rounds. Before we introduce you to a team, there's one short extra role-play built around their customers. We'll tell you when, and prep you for it.
What is the customer role-play like?
A live call with a "customer" who has a messy problem and a skeptical boss. There are no trick questions. We're looking at how you scope, how you listen and how you handle pushback, the same things you do on a real deployment. We'll tell you how you did either way.
What happens to my profile after I'm vetted?
It stays with us until you say otherwise. When a role fits, we tell you the company, the team and why we think it's right. You say yes or no. Nothing moves without you.
What if I'm happy where I am?
Apply anyway. Getting vetted once means you're ready when the right role shows up, and we'll only bring you roles that clear the bar you set. If nothing does, you won't hear a pitch from us.
